Session description:
This session builds on the increasing efforts within the humanitarian sector to ensure the active participation of men and women with disabilities and older men and women into shaping and designing inclusive humanitarian programme approaches.

Learning will be shared from Elrha’s Humanitarian Innovation Fund which supported a project with Tearfund in Ethiopia which has explored processes and tools to put meaningful participation into practice. People with disabilities and older people with others in their communities now use these innovative ways of working to build and strengthen their humanitarian work. We see the term ‘meaningful participation’ needs to be demystified and this session will give some useful guidance and showcase a model of good practice!

Please join us to see how we can all work together to continue to breakdown the multiple barriers in building inclusive approaches and how other diverse groups also marginalised in the humanitarian sector can also benefit from these approaches.
