Nearly half of UK residents do not regularly review their energy bills despite the high prices, new research has found.

Only 54 percent of UK residents go out of their way to regularly review their energy bills with men (57 percent) more likely to review than women (51.7 percent), according to research from Utility Bidder.

A survey of 2,000 Brits found that those aged 65 and over have the highest percentage of respondents saying that they regularly review their bills (63.4 percent).

Manchester and Sheffield are among the UK cities with the least understanding of energy bill terms.

Respectively, 6.50 percent and 5.80 percent said they do not understand any of the terms credit, debit, and tariff, which are all important vocabulary when it comes to understanding energy bills.
