Disability Inclusive Employment: Understanding Youth Experiences and Aspirations

Access to education and employment are paving stones on the road to the full and meaningful participation for young people with disabilities. Yet, in Africa, youth with disabilities are overrepresented amongst those not in education, employment, and training. This trailer is for a short film, created by researchers from the Uganda Research Unit and the International Centre for Evidence in Disability at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, in partnership with young people with disabilities and the Mastercard Foundation, showing what dignified, fulfilling work looks like and means for youth with disabilities in Uganda and Ghana, and offers a vision of the future where disability inclusion and meaningful participation in education and employment are the rule, rather than the expectation.
