Arc of Spokane celebrates Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month [Video]

SPOKANE, Wash. – The Arc of Spokane is opening a month of programming highlighting Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month with an open house on Monday.

The celebration, which will take place at The Arc’s administrative offices, will take place from 4 to 6 pm and will offer attendees a tour of the facilities, as well as information about The Arc’s programming.

CEO Pamela Norr hopes that the month creates greater awareness of the importance of inclusion in Spokane throughout the rest of the year.

“It provides an opportunity to really showcase inclusivity, education and understanding,” Norr said.

Mayor Lisa Brown will attend the event, where she will sign a ceremonial proclamation designating March as Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month in Spokane.
