On Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at 4:00 p.m. (ET) full Committee Ranking Member Waters will host a Women’s History Month roundtable entitled, “Countering Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Attacks by MAGA Republicans.”

• Angela Rye, Principal and CEO of IMPACT Strategies

• Dariely Rodriguez, Deputy Chief Counsel for the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law

In light of the ongoing legal attacks on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs and organizations, Congresswoman Maxine Waters (D-CA), the top Democrat on the House Financial Services Committee, will host a Women’s History Month roundtable on “Countering Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Attacks by MAGA Republicans.” Panelists for the roundtable will include the Fearless Fund— the nation’s first venture firm founded by women of color that invests exclusively in companies owned by women of color that have been directly impacted by lawsuits; civil rights experts Laura Murphy and Dariely Rodriguez; and, renowned social justice advocate Angela Rye. During the roundtable, panelists will discuss the impact these attacks are having on vulnerable communities, particularly women and persons of color in the financial services space, and what tools are needed to combat these efforts and protect DEI..
