Woman arrested after admitting to starting a fire inside of Detroit Lakes home [Video]

BECKER COUNTY, Minn. (Valley News Live) – One woman is in the Becker County Jail after she admitted to starting a fire inside of a Detroit Lakes home.

Around 5 a.m., crews responded to a house fire on March 18, 2024, where the homeowner says Alicia Maria Nolan entered the residence, and began screaming.

According to court documents, the homeowner said Nolan has been living there for months, and the fire started directly from her room. He told police he heard her screaming, walked upstairs, and saw black smoke and flames coming from Nolan’s bedroom.

The Chief confirms the fire started from a mattress being lit on fire.

Authorities inspected the room, and found a broken glass pipe, commonly used to smoke methamphetamine.

Officers went to arrest Nolan outside of the residence on outstanding warrants, where she resisted officers and refused to come out of her vehicle. The documents say …
