US rugby star Perry Baker on his 2024 dreams and plans for retirement [Video]

(NEXSTAR) – U.S. men’s rugby star Perry Baker said his dream is to stand on the podium at the 2024 Paris Olympics. The 37-year-old is one of the world’s best players in rugby sevens.

“It can be bronze, silver or gold, I just want to be on the podium,” Baker said during the U.S. Olympic Media Summit in New York City earlier this month.

Baker, who is from New Smyrna Beach, Florida, said he plans to hang up his cleats after the Paris Olympics.

“I still wanna be around the game. I definitely want to coach, and I feel like that’s another way to help this game grow, is like, to give back to the game,” Baker said.
