INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WLFI) — The controversial higher education reform bill written by State Senator Spencer Deery passed the House Education Committee Wednesday and is now headed to the full House.
As News 18 previously reported, on Monday the Purdue Faculty Senate voted in favor of a resolution opposing Senate Bill 202. It focuses on government-funded universities in the state and the commitment of its faculty to intellectual diversity.
Several amendments were made to the bill before it was passed. But Deery says it’s a win for academic freedom.
