Rose Festival names 2024 princess from Leodis V. McDaniel High School [Video]

PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) – The 2024 Rose Festival princess from Leodis V. McDaniel High School is junior Julie Liu, festival organizers announced Thursday.

Julie expects to graduate next June and hopes to earn her Ph.D. and become a bi-literate psychologist or psychiatrist.

“I want to use my leadership, passion, and language to spread awareness and make room for change,” Julie said. “As an Asian American woman, my experiences and perspectives help better promote diversity and inclusivity, effectively bridging both cultures. Becoming a member of the Rose Court would allow me to further my words with actions.”

High School Activities & Honors:

Chinese Club President and Social Media Manager, Varsity Golf, Stomp n’ Shake Cheerleading, Drumline, Asian Pacific Islander Youth Advocacy Program, Tzu Chi Academy Graduate, National Honor Society, College Possible and STEP UP.
