A controversial weekend vote from the state’s budget committee to advance changes to the state’s supplemental spending plan was blasted by Maine Republicans Tuesday.During a press briefing, House minority leader Rep. Bill Bob Faulkingham called for House Speaker Rachel Talbot Ross to remove Appropriations and Financial Affairs committee co-chair Rep. Melanie Sachs, a Democrat.”Her toxic and intimidating leadership that led to what happened in the early morning hours of Saturday morning. That is why I’ve called for the Speaker to remove her from the Appropriations Committee.”Speaker Talbot Ross responded to Rep. Faulkingham in a letter.”I would remind you that this committee always has an enormous workload.
