Neighborhood shaken after three-house fire kills one person and severely injures a firefighter [Video]

One person is dead, and a Milwaukee firefighter is in intensive care with severe burns after a fire spread through three houses on Milwaukee’s south side Sunday. A fire broke out in the home near 8th and Hayes streets at around 5 a.m. Sunday, then spread to the two homes on either side of it. Neighbors said that the house the fire started in was abandoned.The scene had Natasha Wight, just a few doors down, grabbing her kids and valuables and running out of the house.”It was just darkness and black smoke and red lights,” Wight said. “Some people were out here with no shoes, some people had no pants on.
