Monthly Modern Green Book Marketplace coming to City Walk Birmingham Saturday [Video]

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – Trivia, a new marketplace, and even a new walking club are just some of the activities happening at City Walk Birmingham this weekend.

The Modern Green Book Marketplace takes place Saturday and is a way celebrate Black-owned businesses.

Theo Edwards, CEO and founder of The Modern Green Book, said the monthly marketplace is a manifestation of dreams for her.

“We really started with just one market a year and I thought it was time to explore a monthly deal,” Edwards said. “So I reached out to City Walk and they were willing to work with me. So, we’re hosting a monthly marketplace here to celebrate Black-owned businesses, Black culture, Black art. It’s really a way for the community to connect with these Black brands who a lot of times don’t have their own brick and mortar space here to shop in regularly.
