Montgomery County councilwomen host Womens History Month breakfast [Video]

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) — On Friday morning – International Women’s Day – leaders in Montgomery County celebrated by hosting a special Breakfast and Banter Women’s History Month Event.

The six women who serve on the Montgomery County Council hosted the event at the BlackRock Center for the Arts. The theme for the day was Women Who Advocate for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion.

Women from across the state came together to celebrate one another and their key contributions to the world.

“We have CEOs,” Councilmember Laurie-Anne Sayles, who is the head organizer of the event, said. “We have clergy. We have leaders from our sororities and Divine 9, and our National Council of Negro Women, Montgomery Women.”
