Last French Quarter school moving campus to 7th Ward [Video]

The last school in the French Quarter will officially be moved to the 7th Ward. A news release was issued Tuesday where NOLA Public Schools and Homer Plessy Community Schools issued a joint statement regarding the school’s permanent move to the McKenna building located at 1651 N. Tonti Street.According to the release, after six months of students and staff being at the site, leaders said they would like to move to the location permanently. “Over the past six months, Homer Plessy Community Schools has immersed itself in the McKenna building and its surrounding neighborhood, recognizing the numerous benefits the location offers to our staff, students, families, and community,” CEO of Plessy Schools Megahan Raychaudhuri said. “The McKenna campus has proven to be a nurturing environment for our diverse educational needs.
