A hailstorm that swept through Kansas and Missouri early Wednesday morning has left hundreds of cars damaged, with residents now facing a long cleanup process.It’s just the latest severe weather event in what has been a very active spring for the Kansas City metro area.In Shawnee, hundreds of cars were damaged by the hail.KMBC 9 spoke with early morning grocery shoppers and Starbucks coffee drinkers on Wednesday morning shortly after they returned to their vehicles to find them battered by the storm.These were not the only cars hit hard.Local repair shops specializing in hail damage were inundated with calls from the early hours of the morning.
