KairosHof X UNIDO ITPO Nigeria: Investment Readiness Programme for Female Owned Businesses.

UNIDO ITPO Nigeria and its co-organizer, Kairos Hof Consultants Limited, are thrilled to announce the resounding success of our annual Investment Readiness Programme launch. Women-led businesses across Nigeria came together to gain valuable skills, connect with industry leaders, and pitch their ventures to potential investors.

Keynote speaker Mrs Folashade Alli’s thought-provoking address emphasized intentionality, legal compliance, and professionalism as crucial factors for success, particularly for Nigerian women entrepreneurs. Highlighting excellence and mentorship, Mrs. Alli challenged participants to improve and build strong reputations through ethical conduct.

Building on Mrs. Alli’s keynote momentum, Mr. Olagoke Fagbohun, CEO of Kairos Hof Consultants, highlighted the need for better metrics to track women-led businesses, fairer access to funding, and mental health support for this key demographic.

Mrs Yetunde Demuren challenged the stereotype of women lacking ambition in her presentation, “Closing the Funding Gap,” urging business owners to leverage networks, explore alternative funding, and prioritize robust business plans and continuous education.

The panel discussion explored funding challenges for female entrepreneurs, covering navigating traditional barriers to financial access, gender bias, aligning with investor goals (impact vs. for-profit), and highlighting financial literacy, strong networks, and business acumen as keys to success.

The programme culminated in a live pitch session, during which women entrepreneurs from diverse industries showcased their innovative ventures, from organic fertilizer production (Growth Circular) and fashion manufacturing (DSI Fashion Technology) to financial solutions empowering rural women (Mamamoni). The pitches highlighted funding needs and the potential for social impact and job creation in Nigeria.
