The study examines a variety of factors affecting employee well-being across different sectors in Ireland, based on responses from 1,000 employees and 200 employers collected between May and July 2023. This summary delves into the intricate details of the research findings, shedding light on the current state of workplace well-being and providing actionable insights for leaders and human resource professionals.

The research highlights that, although there is a general decline in overall anxiety levels, intense anxiety remains prevalent among a significant portion of the workforce. Over 84% of the survey respondents report feeling some level of anxiety, with a noticeable increase in those who experience it persistently. This suggests that while broader anxiety may be decreasing, the depth and intensity of anxiety for those affected are worsening.

The data indicates an alarming rise in substance abuse, particularly among men, who are reported to be twice as likely as women to engage in such behaviors.
