Jamie McAnsh is an adaptive athlete, whose life was changed forever when one morning he awoke paralysed from below the waist. Having battled many personal challenges, from Complex Regional Pain Syndrome to anxiety and depression, Jamie has emerged from his struggles and in the process completed a succession of gruelling extreme challenges- such as hand-cycling 100 miles in 13 hours. Now booked as a speaker for events, Jamie focuses on themes of diversity, inclusion and overcoming adversity.
After waking paralysed one morning, Jamie has tackled challenges head-on and is determined to not let his disability stop him from achieving the incredible. Since his diagnosis of CRPS, Jamie has completed some of the most extreme challenges, including becoming the first wheelchair user to complete the WAAT4 challenge– 30k across the Brecon Beacon Mountain range. Having raised over £250,000 for charity, Jamie is passionate to see increased diversity and inclusion within sport and is a member of the Board of Directors of Squash Wales.
