KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – After months of waiting on the Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas City Royals to release specifics on their community benefits agreement, the franchises unveiled their CBA on Wednesday afternoon.
The Chiefs and Royals stated they are committing to more than $260 million in community investments should Jackson County voters pass Question 1 on the April 2 ballot.
According to a release, the Chiefs have agreed to $126 million that covers initiatives of:
- Employment Benefits (i.e., workforce training and education)
- Healthcare
- Children and Families (with a focus on youth programming)
- Diversity Benefits (i.e., minority- and women-owned business goals)
- Workforce Assistance
- Education (i.e., supplemental education support services for urban youth and adults)
- Environment & Sustainability (i.e., development, implementation and maintenance of a sustainability operations plan, and efforts to reduce carbon emissions)
- Public Transportation Benefits (for both workers and residents)
