Black owned luxury spa opens in McCalla [Video]

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – A black owned spa in McCalla, possibly the only one of its kind, is looking to make a splash and bring the luxury lifestyle to the area. Owner, Lisa Brown says when you walk into their business on Pocahontas road in McCalla, you can expect a beautiful and professional atmosphere that’s welcoming for all, especially people of color. She says there, luxury is a lifestyle.

At Lisa Brown salon and spa in McCalla, owner Lisa Brown says if you can grow it, they say they can do it.

“There are other day spas in the area but they are not black owned and they’re not minority women owned,” says Brown.

Going on three weeks since opening, Brown says when you walk in her shop you’ll see a black space for all to enjoy, by a black woman.
