April Eberhardt aims to help people understand and celebrate Black joy [Video]

SPOKANE, Wash. – April Eberhardt, a college and career specialist at Shadle Park High School is supporting the upcoming “Black Voices Symposium” which aims to create a platform where the voices of the black community can be heard and celebrated.

Eberhardt is also a member of The Links Incorporated, a non-profit volunteer organization that consists of many prominent Black women including vice president of the U.S. Kamala Harris.

“In order to get submissions, we need to cultivate interest, we need to cultivate awareness,” Eberhardt stated. “So I thought, let’s have some workshops for the youth in the community so that we can teach and we can learn, they can express I really want to empower young people, I think we just continuously need to breathe life.”

Edhartdt capped it with an African proverb, “Where you will sit when you are old determines where you stood in your youth.”
