Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc Invades Charlotte [Video]

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) – The first Black Greek letter sorority founded in 1908 wants to make a sizeable impact in Charlotte. The ladies of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. are in the Queen City for their 71st Mid-Atlantic Regional Conference. The Mid-Atlantic Region consists of North Carolina and Virginia. More than 5600 women are in town not only to take care of business for their organization but also to carry out the mission of their sorority.

“Alpha Kappa Alpha is about service to all mankind,” Mid-Atlantic Regional Director Nadine Vargas Stewart said. “And so what we do each and every day is service first. When you see us it looks like we are having a great time – we do. We love our sisterhood but at the same time too – we want to have a sizeable and measurable impact.”
