Teenagers in Lamoille and Chittenden counties now have a new place to shop and spend time with friends thanks to the generosity of two local women.There’s a white building off Route 15 in Jericho, Vermont, owned by the town’s United Methodist Church. It’s not a building many would notice, while it was left vacant for some time. But, when the church began discussions about the best way to fill the space, Laura Merena said she saw it as an opportunity to serve a certain group of people in her community. “I was like, well, you know, teens are sort of like lost sometimes, they don’t get the attention they need. It’s hard to be a teenager,” said Merena. Both Merena and her friend Amy Davis are empty nesters who raised their children in Jericho.
