MEDINA, Tenn. (WMC) – Officials with the West Tennessee Violent Crime and Drug Task Force uncovered a ring of black market weight loss drugs.
The news comes after a series of search warrants carried out in Medina, Tennessee.
Law enforcement officers searched a home that was supplying weight loss clinics in two different counties with the drugs.
Johnie Carter, Director of the West Tennessee Violent Crime and Drug Task Force says a total of 698 vials of Semaglutide, Tirzepatide and Congrilitide were seized.
The first search warrant was carried out at a home on Saddlebrook Drive on December 8. Agents found 330 vials of the black market drugs, some with warning labels stating the drugs are not for human consumption and for research purposes only.
