GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) – After reaching the NCAA Tournament last year, a new era begins for the Phoenix women’s basketball program with their season opener on Monday at #13 Kansas State.
Former Phoenix star Kayla Karius takes over as head coach after Kevin Borseth retired in the offseason. Borseth was present at practice on Tuesday and continues to assist the team in any way he can, while also allowing Karius to build the program in her image.
“I think the best part about him and the relationship we have now is his ability to step back in a way and say, ‘What do you believe in? What do you wanna do? Kayla, what’s your purpose for today’s practice?
