The Power of Choice | Motivation Story [Video]

The story of the two wolves is a Native American parable that teaches us about the power of choice. The story goes that an old Cherokee chief is teaching his grandson about life. He tells the grandson that there is a battle going on inside him, a battle between two wolves. One wolf is evil, full of malice, anger, greed, self-pity, and false pride. The other wolf is good, full of peace, love, joy, kindness, and humility. The old chief tells the grandson that the same battle is going on inside everyone else on the face of the earth.

The grandson asks his grandfather which wolf will win. The old chief smiles and replies, “The one you feed.”
This story teaches us that we have the power to choose which side of ourselves we want to nurture. When we choose to feed the good wolf, we are choosing to live a life of peace, love, joy, kindness, and humility. When we choose to feed the evil wolf, we are choosing to live a life of malice, anger, greed, self-pity, and false pride.
The choice is ours.
