PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (WTAP) – The Amputee Center’s holiday open house featured different activities for all ages to enjoy.

These included cookie decorating, performances from aerial arts artists, and an appearance by the Amputee Santa.

Catherine Lang-Bigley, the executive director of the Amputee Center, said this is a way to add inclusion into the holiday season.

“The idea is inclusion and making disabilities more visible for for the amputees to feel welcome in communities,” Bigley said.

“It’s fun,” said performer Marley Jouver. ” We haven’t had one of these before, but we’ve had something similar and I’m really happy that we did it again.”

The Amputee Santa said having people here attending is just apart of the Christmas sprit.

“I’m happy to see everybody here,” Santa said “Everyday is wonderful.”
