SUNY Plattsburgh is commemorating Juneteenth by raising a Juneteenth flag in front of Hawkins Hall, symbolizing its steadfast commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion at the school.School President Alexander Enyedi and Vice President of SUNY Plattsburgh DEI Allison Heard released a statement emphasizing the importance of this day, urging the community to reflect on the ongoing journey toward justice and equality. “This day serves as a poignant reminder of the long and arduous journey toward justice and equality,” the statement reads.The Juneteenth flag will remain raised until Thursday.
