President of Independence Chamber plans to retire after nearly 20 years [Video]

INDEPENDENCE, Mo. (KCTV) – After nearly two decades at the helm, the President and CEO of the Independence Chamber of Commerce plans to step back into retirement.

The Independence Chamber of Commerce has announced that President and CEO Tom Lesnak is set to retire on July 1. Over the past 18 years, he has driven economic growth and fostered community connections.

“His dedication and vision have left an indelible mark on the city and its business community,” an organization spokesperson said.

The Chamber of Commerce noted that Lesnak joined the community in 2007 as President of the Independence Economic Development Council. By 2020, he took over as leader of the Chamber. Throughout his tenure, he has made many achievements:

• He assisted in the formation of the Community Improvement District for the Independence Events Center.
• He spearheaded the creation of the Ennovation Center business incubator to provide opportunities for startups and entrepreneurs.
