HARTFORD, Conn. — In the state of Connecticut, October is officially Disability Employment Awareness Month.

Gov. Ned Lamont signed a proclamation on Tuesday making the declaration in honor of all Connecticut residents with disabilities in the workplace, recognizing their many achievements.

Lamont says this month will offer residents a chance to acknowledge and celebrate the contributions of workers of all abilities.

“It is a period that highlights the importance of inclusive employment policies and practices that create benefits for both employers and employees,” Lamont said. “Connecticut’s dedication to fostering an inclusive workforce where people of all abilities are appreciated and integrated into the business community enriches the diverse tapestry of the workplace and of the state.”

In his proclamation, Lamont encourages the welcoming of the talents of all people, including those with disabilities, as a crucial part of the state’s efforts to build an inclusive, equitable community …
