NJ Advance Media wins 7 awards at SFJs Excellence-in-Features contest [Video]

NJ Advance Media and NJ.com has added to its 2024 trophy case, notching seven awards in the Society of Features Journalism’s 2024 Excellence-in-Features contest.

Founded in 1947, the Society for Features Journalism “is dedicated to promoting, honoring and celebrating the craft of features journalism — stories that illuminate everyday lives and the rich diversity of our individual experiences,” according to SFJ’s site.

The media company took home seven awards across several categories including feature series or project, special section, inclusion and representation matters, finest in features sweepstakes, sports feature, visual storytelling, podcast. They also had two honorable mentions in the food criticism and and narrative storytelling categories.

NJ Advance Media and NJ.com won third place overall in the competition, which tallies individual prizes for a total score, finishing behind the Washington Post and Los Angeles Times.
