CAVE CITY, Ky. (WBKO) – With a large number of locally owned businesses on the street, business has been booming, and traffic has become an issue on West Broadway Street in Cave City.
During a council meeting in October, the council spoke with Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 3 Chief Engineer Joe Plunk, who advocated for back-in parking, while many business owners said they would prefer angled parking.
“Some of you might remember the last time they black-topped Main Street, their engineers said parallel parking was much safer. Well, now for some reason, some say it’s safer for angled parking,” said Cave City Mayor Dwayne Hatcher. “Of course, the safest, which we discussed, is back in angled parking. Which makes a lot of sense.”
An additional issue with changing the parking plan was that West Broadway Street, being a state road, was going to be repaved in 2026 free of charge …
