ABC News Chief White House Correspondent Mary Bruce confronted President Donald Trump for blaming the D.C. air crash on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) policies, challenging him to provide evidence for the claim at a press conference on Thursday.
The nation was stunned when an American Airlines flight with over 60 people aboard collided with a Black Hawk Army Helicopter near Ronald Reagan National Airport at 8:48 pm Wednesday night.
Trump reacted with a series of social media posts, and at a press briefing on Thursday morning he blamed former President Joe Biden and DEI for the disaster.
Bruce immediately challenged Trump, asking “What evidence do you have?” and getting Trump to admit he was speculating and had none.
