LINCOLNTON, N.C. (WBTV) – A man is accused of firing shots and pistol-whipping a woman in a Lincolnton Dollar General.
Officers with the Lincolnton Police Department said they were called out to the Dollar General on Center Drive around 4:25 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16 for reports of shots fired in the store.
When they got to the store, police said they found multiple women who were involved in a physical disturbance. They said a man went out to his car during the incident, grabbed a handgun, returned to the store, fired multiple shots in the air and pistol-whipped a woman.
He then allegedly fled on food.
The man was identified as 28-year-old Tavaz Kaleb Brooks. He was charged with possession of firearm by felon, assault with a deadly weapon and discharging a firearm within the city limits.
He was also served a warrant for failure to appear for court for prior charges.
Brooks is being held without bond.
