ORONO – With an 87-point performance on Saturday, Maine women’s hoops cruised past Bryant for their second straight win to start America East play.
Despite two major injuries this offseason, the Black Bears are now just one of two teams in the league to open up with a 2-0 record- the other being Albany. Maine used a big second quarter and second half to win their opener earlier last week against Lowell, and their offensive eruption led them to victory over Bryant.
Head coach Amy Vachon credits a daunting non-conference schedule for preparing her team for America East play, but she also says everything is just more impactful when the calendar turns to that part of the schedule- something everyone feels.
