Local businesses facing serious challenges with Sheridan Lake Road construction [Video]

RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) – Many drivers have used alternate routes to avoid construction on Sheridan Lake Road.

As a result, businesses in the Autumn Hills Plaza have taken a hit.

Sara Hill, the owner of Autumn Hills Liquor, says her business in the Plaza normally receives more than 12,000 vehicles daily, but that number has been cut in half since the roadwork started.

Rebecca Goosen, owner of Cutting Edge Meat Market, said the only open entrance to her business was on Sheridan Lake Road at the start of the construction.

Hill and Goosen took these concerns to the City Council.
