LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — The sheriff of Spencer County, Kentucky, has announced his retirement.
Sheriff Scott Herndon announced his plans to step down in a video posted on the department’s Facebook page.
Herndon said his retirement will become official on Aug. 31. He also said he’s proud of his accomplishments at the department, and now plans to spend more time with his grandchildren, hunting, fishing and traveling.
The remaining two years of Herndon’s term will be filled by Chief Deputy Andrew Ware.
