Kentucky attorney general calls out Costco for upholding DEI policies [Video]

KENTUCKY, USA — Kentucky Attorney General Russell Coleman is criticizing one of America’s largest retailers after it decided to uphold its diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives last week.

On Jan. 24, Costco executives revealed more than 98% of shares voted against the proposal, saying it believes “our commitment to an enterprise rooted in respect and inclusion is appropriate and necessary. The report requested by this proposal would not provide meaningful additional information.”

“Costco has a motto to ‘Do the right thing,’ but their DEI business practices are all wrong. By pushing a DEI agenda, Costco is out-of-step with the Kentuckians who just want affordable prices,” AG Coleman said.

Coleman, along with 18 other state attorneys general, have created a coalition which urges companies to “treat every person equally and based on their merit.” The coalition …
