Introduction (American Sign Language) | UNESCO Master Class on Disability Equality in the Media

This video contains American Sign Language interpretation.

This is an introductory video to the UNESCO Master Class on Disability Equality in the Media, which is based on UNESCO’s Practical Manual on Disability Equality in the Media.

Ms Sophie Morgan, journalist, disability rights activist, and host of the series, highlights the importance of strengthening the capacity of the media to integrate the principles of diversity, inclusion, and accessibility. This so persons with disabilities can exercise their rights and freedoms to express themselves, seek and impart information on an equal basis with others, and participate meaningfully in the development of society.

The Master Class Video Series on Disability Equality in the Media, hosted by Sophie Morgan, is a global initiative launched by UNESCO to strengthen the capacity of media organizations to integrate the principles of inclusion, diversity, and accessibility into editorial policies and media programming, content production, and management practices.

Let’s together remove barriers for audiences with disabilities!
