MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) — Potawatomi Hotel and Casino got in on the Indigenous Peoples’ Day celebration Monday, with incredible visuals and displays all throughout the casino.

Native American dancers could be seen on many of the screens, meant to show the symbolism and intricacies of the traditional dances.

For CEO Dominic Ortiz, this merely scratches the surface of what this day means.

“Part of Indigenous Peoples’ Day is to say, while our traditions and cultures are strong, and you see them by our native dance traditions, we’re also business leaders, we’re lawyers, we’re doctors, and also content creators of one of a kind,” Ortiz said.

Potawatomi will continue to have events throughout the evening that celebrate Indigenous Peoples’ Day.
