Huntsville names new diversity and inclusion director [Video]

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — The City of Huntsville has named a new director of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Mayor Tommy Battle appointed Dr. Randy Barbour Jr. to the position.

“Dr. Barbour will bring a fresh perspective on an office with a simple but critical mission, to make life better for everyone,” Mayor Battle said. “We are looking forward to his leadership and vision.” 

Dr. Barbour previously served as an assistant professor of psychology at Alabama A&M University. His career also includes roles at the Harris Home for Children, North Alabama Center for Educational Excellence, and The University of Alabama in Huntsville.
