Georgia Tech DEI website removals questioned by state NAACP [Video]

The Georgia NAACP on Sunday highlighted an email with a directive to delete content referring to DEI, justice and other terms.

ATLANTA — The Georgia NAACP questioned one of the state’s top colleges on Sunday over deleting references to DEI from the school website.

The state NAACP posted an email supposedly circulating in Georgia Tech’s School of Interactive Computing referring to a recent directive to “delete all content” containing the terms DEI, diversity, equity, inclusion, inclusive excellence and justice.

11Alive contacted the school, which did not confirm the veracity of the email but said it began discontinuing DEI programs in 2023 which “included eliminating positions and realigning funding.”

The email posted by the Georgia NAACP expressed concern that even articles with references to awards and recognitions related to DEI efforts would be deleted from the Tech website. It noted “several pages” on the school website would also need to be rewritten.
