‘Freezin’ for a Reason’ | Feel the chill at Boerne’s Polar Plunge [Video]

The money goes toward providing year-round sports training and competition, along with health and inclusion programs for individuals with intellectual disabilities.

BOERNE, Texas — If the recent freezing weather has you yearning for more, you can take a polar plunge for a good cause at an upcoming event.

Participants will be “Freezin’ for a Reason” at the Boerne Polar Plunge on Saturday, Feb. 22, at Boerne City Park. The event is being organized by the Special Olympics of Texas and the Law Enforcement Torch Run. 

The plunge will support more than 2,000 local Special Olympics Texas athletes. The money goes toward providing year-round sports training and competition, along with health and inclusion programs for individuals with intellectual disabilities. 

The plunge is open to people of all ages, however, children under 12 must plunge with a parent or guardian. Floaties and/or life vests will not be provided, but you are encouraged …
