The professional wrestling world was sent reeling when former AEW Women’s World Champion Timeless Toni Storm announced her retirement from the business.
In an interview with James Dator of SB Nation, Storm revealed that she was retiring after a string of losses across AEW, New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW), and Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL), apologizing to her fans for “being such a failure.”

“I’m not used to being a loser,” Storm said, “I’ve failed at everything. I lost in AEW, I lost in Japan, I lost in Mexico. This is the last you’ll hear from me again. Enjoy Mariah May as your champion. You can all enjoy that.”
“AEW is just fine without me,” Storm continued. “Everything is going well for AEW. They don’t need Toni Storm.”
