Family-owned Spearfish mustard company making mustard since 1997 [Video]

RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) – For those who don’t put mustard on their hot dog, you may want to reconsider. A family-owned company in Spearfish has been making its mustard since 1997.

Betty Lenners, Co-Owner of Dakota Gold Mustard says this is the best mustard you’ll find not only in South Dakota but the entire nation.

Dakota Gold Mustard launched in the late ‘90s with humble beginnings. Lenners’ husband’s grandmother used to make mustard for him when he was little.

“One day he asked her if she would teach us how to make it. So, she did, and I have her recipe, and every time we made it we changed it just a little bit, you know, added the salt or whatever,” Lenners said.
