Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Across Exercise Oncology [Video]

There is strong evidence demonstrating the benefits of exercise for cancer; however, there is limited literature on exercise for LGBTQIA2S+ individuals living with and beyond cancer. Join us in learning about this national study, conducted to understand equity, diversity, and inclusion in exercise oncology.

Presenter: Benny Rana
Benny Rana is a health equity researcher at the University of Calgary. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Mount Royal University in Calgary, AB. Then she pursued a Master of Public Health degree from the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon, SK. After her Master of Public Health degree, she started working with the Department of Cancer Epidemiology and Prevention Research, where she was working on studies looking at modifiable lifestyle factors and cancer risk. She was heavily involved with studies looking at physical activity and cancer. With this new interest in physical activity, she decided to go back to graduate school and pursued a Master of Science in Kinesiology, focusing on equity, diversity, and inclusion in exercise oncology. Benny’s research interests include equity, diversity, and inclusion in cancer care and support.
