PLOVER, Wis. (WSAW) – This week’s Dine and Dish is unlike any other we’ve covered in the series, the restaurant is on wheels. The small truck is making a local husband and wife duo’s big dream come true.
Purple Basil is a veteran-owned, women-owned, and minority-owned business specializing in Italian cuisine.
After traveling to events since 2020 they’ve pumped the brakes, setting up a more permanent location here in April.
“It’s a nice central spot. Having this set location we were able to provide the seating, the atmosphere to match our food, and then we’re also able to add beer and wine to our menu,” said Taylor Okerland, Co-owner of Purple Basil.
It’s a goal that has only grown since Okerland and fellow Co-owner Carolina Corral left the military.
