TWIN FALLS — The Idaho State Board of Education unanimously voted at its Dec. 18 meeting to approve a policy that will restrict campus “diversity, equity and inclusion” offices.
The resolution forbids public colleges and universities to have student success centers that are “based on DEI ideology.” It also banned institutions from establishing a “central office, policy, procedure, or initiative” that is based around the topic of DEI.
The College of Southern Idaho is a two-year institution that has earned the federal designation of a Hispanic Serving Institution.
Chris Bragg, vice president of institutional effectiveness and operations for CSI, said he believes the college will not be affected by the decision.
