Companies Roll Back DEI Programs Amid Shifting Priorities [Video]

A growing number of companies, including Target and Walmart, are reevaluating and scaling back their diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) programs as corporate priorities and the U.S. political climate shifts.

A part of a broader trend, some organizations are moving away from comprehensive DEI initiatives, citing factors such as economic uncertainty, changes in leadership and pushback from certain stakeholders.

Several major corporations have announced reductions in their DEI departments or altered their approaches to inclusion efforts. These changes come in response to a variety of pressures, including rising costs, political interests, a desire for more measurable results and criticism from both conservative groups and employees questioning the effectiveness of DEI strategies.
