Coffee shop owner chooses to stay in Memphis after two break-ins in one week [Video]

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – Bartholomew Jones, founder of Anti Gentrification Coffee Club and Cxffee Black, said he wants to change the options for people in Memphis. He said it starts with businesses staying in Memphis, even when crime hits their doorstep.

For 6 years, Jones has grown his coffee brand in Memphis and across the world.

On Christmas Eve and the day after Christmas, they experienced a crime many local business owners have been a victim of in Memphis.

“The first one was more of a case, and the second one was when they kind of knew what they wanted and did damage,” he said.

According to Memphis Police, officers were called to the coffee shop Wednesday after they received a prowler call.
